Subject: Dog with Cushing’s Disease & Elbow Calluses

I have a dog with very bad elbow calluses that continue to be infected. I have tried many treatments which have all failed. She also has Cushing’s disease which has responded well to Chemo. Can your Derma-IonX help her?

Dear Susan,

I would suggest you use Derma-IonX both orally and topically on the elbows twice daily. Minerals are so important in healing of the skin. Have you tried elbow pads to reduce pressure on the elbows? Let me know if your vet can’t suggest a brand to you.

Best wishes,

Dr. Char,

Thank you for responding to my e-mail. I will try your product. Can you suggest a source for elbow pads as well?

Thanks
Sue

Dear Susan,

Bear International Corporation in Michigan makes a Canine Elbow Protective Sleeve. Their phone number is 248-694-0021. I thought I had seen another ad for elbow cushions. If I find it I will pass this information on to you later.

Best wishes,
Dr Char
