I’m trying to find out if this product works on both types of Mange?
I rescued an 18 week old Old English Bulldog that has demodex mange. He was in deplorable conditions. He has lost all of his hair. He still has scabs on the top of his head. I took him to the vet and they recommended a highly toxic dip with a 50/50 chance due to the condition that he was already in. I did my research on the problem and I found a site that recommended hydrogen peroxide and 20 mule team borax solution. I did use it and with a change in his diet of rice, sardines, jack mackerel, sweet potatoes, garlic and carrots he is doing so much better. I also rub him down 3x’s a day with pure Aloe gel and I give him enhance probiotic system capsules. He is doing so much better. He was so lethargic but he kept his appetite and I gave him distilled water with apple cider vinegar. My question is this: why has he lost so much weight? Is this something that is due to the demodex mange condition or should I take him to the vet?
My dog was diagnosed with Sarcoptes mange about 6 weeks ago and we used a product prescribed by the vet called Revolution. Unfortunately, that didn’t do much so I switched to neem oil, which seemed to help when I put it in his shampoo. I was really hopeful! Now the dog seems itchy again. To make matters more complicated, the vet didn’t get a firm diagnosis — he thought he saw one egg with the scraping but found no mites. What if he’s wrong? And we’re also leaving for a family vacation in 9 days. I don’t want to leave the dog with a pet sitter when he’s not feeling well! What is your advice? Can the Defendex work that quickly to help him?
My 1 year old pit bull recently got into poison ivy. Well I gave him an oatmeal bath and it seemed to go away, until about 3wks ago and he’s covered with I think is mange. Oatmeal didn’t do the trick this time. My question is, if it indeed is a bad poison ivy case will your shampoo work for this as well?
I have a two and a half year old german shepherd that is having itch and skin problems. Can she get demodectic mange after one year of age? If yes, I need a treatment that would work. Could you please look into this and let me know if you can help us. Having issues in the funding area so have to do my own analysis.
We have a 9 month old yellow lab, chow mix. He has had mange since we rescued him at 6 weeks old. The vet prescribed Ivermectin, antibiotics, dip etc.. over the past 9 months. The dog will start to look better after a month or so, but then within a week the mange is back. I’ve tried fish oil, essential oils, natural remedies, and they seem to help but I just can’t seem to rid him of it for good.
I spoke to a Vet at Petsmart she says that there is “no shampoo” that removes mange from a pet, and that he would require treatment. Pet has small areas that appear to be infected. Please advise.
Do you have any success with Defendex for demodex??? I have a 1 y.o. Australian Shepherd with a mild case around 1 eye. Can it be used around the eye?? Due to breed sensitivity to ivermectin, I will not use that and am looking for an alternative. Thanks for any information you can give me.
Demodectic mange is an opportunistic infection because the immune system is weak. It is important to worm and take care of any other infection as part of the total treatment.
