With a long-standing history of safety and efficacy dating back over a 100 years, homeopathics are a specific type of natural medicine designed on the principle of "like cures like."
Seeking alternatives to the often dangerous and even deadly treatments of their time, the brave doctors who first developed homeopathic practices would take small doses of natural ingredients to observe and note every effect the ingredient had. Those records they compiled over many years of research now make up the homeopathic "bible," known as the Materia Medica, which have guided the production of homeopathic treatments ever since.
Homeopathics work similarly to the way our modern day vaccines do. Teaching the body to fight back against symptoms, ingredients which most closely mimic the complaints of a patient in their raw form are actually those best suited to treat them in a homeopathic dilution.
The natural ingredients used in homeopathic ingredients, are diluted to such minute doses as to be rendered safe and free of side-effects. Yet, with the secondary process of homeopathic potentization, those minute doses are able to work powerfully with the body to fight back against symptoms. As with a vaccine, but without the viral ingredients or potential side-effects they carry, very small, safe doses of these natural ingredients work to improve immunity and resistance to problem symptoms and, ultimately to provide relief.
What Are Homeopathics? Basically:
As a long-standing approach to medicine with roots back over a hundred years, the traditional language of homeopathy can, understandably, be somewhat confusing for people today. Homeopathic indications and ingredient names are the same as those originally recorded by the leading forefathers of the practice.
Seeking alternatives to the often dangerous and even deadly treatments of their time, brave, pioneering homeopathic doctors would take small doses of natural ingredients to observe and note every effect the ingredient had. They left nothing out. As a result, even besides being written in the language of their day which may be antiquated, the recorded effects (indications) may seem very specific or even strange sounding. However, effects are genuine and important to list in their entirety, because homeopaths use that information to select the best ingredients for a patient's symptoms. The ingredients which had caused effects closest complaints of their patients, are actually the ingredients best suited to relieve them. Similar to the way vaccines work, very small, safe doses of these natural ingredients are used to improve immunity and resistance to the problem symptoms people experience. (More on the production and action of homeopathics HERE)
Today's homeopaths follow the same time-tested approach and use the same traditional language of our founding fathers so that today's homeopathic users may reap the same benefits of this practice long renowned for its safety and efficacy.
Indications are taken directly as-is from the "Materia Medica" (in Latin, "Medical Materials") of homeopathy's forefathers - namely Boericke's and Clarke's. The language and terms used are the language and terms common to the time they were originally written. Indications for homeopathic ingredients are derived from notes on the specific symptoms and experiences of the doctors originally testing them.
Ingredients are listed by their traditional Latin homeopathic names and were specially selected to target the symptoms you’re experiencing.
